EXPRESSJET MOU #2 COVID-19 LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Sisters and Brothers:

To date COVID-19 has caused unprecedented day-to-day changes in the airline industry. We are pleased to say the IAM and the company has signed Memorandum of Understanding #2 – COVID-19 Leave of Absence with enhancements to several sections of our March 9, 2020 CBA for the next few months. They are listed below:

  • Section 11.A.16 – A Flight Attendant granted a leave of absence in excess of 30 days covered by this MOU will not be required to turn in any Company items (I.D. badge, manual, etc.).
  • · Section 11.B Time off Without Pay (TOWOP) – During the months of May, June and July of 2020. Flight Attendants who take TOWOP for more than one bid period will be able to continue their current insurance benefits (provided that they pay the active Flight Attendant premiums) and will have pass privileges for themselves and all eligible pass riders. Previously, these two benefits were only available for the first thirty (30) days that a Flight Attendant is on TOWOP for the calendar year.
  • Section 11.C Personal Leave of Absence (PLOA) – Flight Attendants will retain pass privileges for the month of April 2020.
  • Flight Attendants on a Leave under Paragraph A or B of this Agreement will be able to bid for Base Transfers and Jobshare, as though they are currently active.

We are in continued discussions with management as it pertains to COVID-19 Sick Leave as well as RX days and utilization, we are listening and are working on additional enhancements to our current contract. Flexibility and quality of life are two of areas that we know are important to ALL Flight Attendants, we will do our best to serve you and strengthen these areas for us all.

We have attached a copy of the MOU. It will be updated on the company website as well as the IAMAW Flight Attendant App. Should you have any questions regarding the new MOU, please contact your local Grievance Representative, General Chair or Special Representative.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you today.

In solidarity,
