Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Effective immediately, due to potential safety concerns, the FAA has issued a precautionary recommendation to prohibit the use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mobile devices.
To fully comply with this FAA recommendation, increase passenger awareness, and to help ensure the continued safety of our passengers and crewmembers, Flight Attendants are to make the following announcement:
“Due to a recommendation from the FAA regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, these devices must remain powered off throughout the flight and may not be charged at any time while onboard.”
The required PA announcement should be made:
- After the Passenger Door is Closed
- During the Welcome/PED announcement
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices should not be placed in gate checked bags.
Anyone who may be unaware of this precautionary recommendation and asks for additional information should be referred to Samsung Customer Service or to the retail outlet where the device was purchased.
