As you know areas in Texas and as far North as Oklahoma are receiving severe weather.
Under the ERJ CBA you are protected under Section 3.W.2.b. if you are unable to report to work due to hazardous or impassable roads resulting from severe weather.
While, according to the CRJ CBA you are protected under Section 28.O. The Company is obligated to work with you for the purposes of removing him/her from scheduled duty if your home/domicile is involved in a natural disaster. Each situation is evaluated on a case by case basis for attendance policy applicability.
Please provide as much documentation as possible to show the hazardous or closed roads in your area, such as news reports or pictures dan give as much notice to the Company as possible while keeping in touch with your grievance representatives.
The Company has sent out a myMessage advising that United is providing positive space to assist crew members in commuting to work until 2359 on 6/16. In order to utilize this option you need to email with ‘Storm Commuter’ in the subject line. In the body of the email list your name, United “N” number, city pair, date and flight numbers. The confirmation number will be sent to the same email you use for the request. For more information refer to your myMessage.
If you’ve experienced an contractual violation please email your local lodge representative as soon as possible with all supporting documentation.
