After the IAM’s request for a proffer of arbitration last month, IAM District 142 and ExpressJet Airlines have agreed to continue joint contract negotiations the week of April 25th in Atlanta, GA.

**REMINDER DONT MISS OUT**  SUPPLEMENTAL BENEFITS 2016 ENROLLMENT

We are pleased to announce for the first time, we have organized a system-wide enrollment at our ExpressJet bases for National Group Protection (NGP) supplemental benefits that are available to you as an IAM member.

National Group Protection (NGP) will be in the crew rooms in February and March to conduct a supplemental benefits enrollment for IAMAW District 142 members at ExpressJet.  Please meet in person with a benefit counselor to enroll or make changes to your existing coverage.  Members can enroll in any of the crew rooms, not just your base location.

 

Accident Insurance    •    Cancer Insurance    •    Critical Illness Coverage

Short Term Disability    •    Whole Life Insurance

 

There are some benefit enhancements/upgrades this year, so please take the time to sit down with a benefit counselor and review your options.  This is also an excellent time to make sure you have filed for your annual health screening benefits, which are part of the accident, cancer and critical illness benefit plans.

 

  • Supplemental – these plans supplement any existing coverage
  • Limited Underwriting – no medical or physical exams required
  • Family Coverage – available with all of the plans (except disability)
  • Portable – members can continue coverage if they leave the company (except disability)
  • Payroll Deduction – premiums are paid through payroll deduction

Please contact a Grievance Representative when you are hurt on the job. On the job injury laws vary state to state dependent upon where you’re based.  Navigating the world of OJI can be confusing but your IAM representatives can help guide you through the process.  Also, make sure you fill out the Company’s OJI paperwork as well as an IOR and an ASAP report.

 Contract Violations

If you believe your contract has been violated, please reach out to a Grievance Representative immediately. Contractual guidelines are in place from the date the event gave rise to the grievance. A grievance concerning discipline has 21 days to be filed and contractual violations have 45 days to filed.

Rolled Day Pay

If you have a rolled day off and choose to be paid 4 hours instead of having your day off restored, please keep in mind that per the CBA the 4 hours pay will be added to your Line Value not your Monthly Minimum Guarantee.  So, for reserves that means if you do not exceed 80 hours of actual flying you will not receive any additional compensation.

 

Step 2 Grievances

Our next Step 2 hearings are scheduled to take place March 23rd in Houston, Texas.

Grievance Mediation

Several issues and grievances were resolved at Grievance Mediation this past week.  Our next CRJ/ERJ Grievance Mediation session will be held May 9 – May 11, 2016.
