Dear Sisters and Brothers:
District 142 is pleased to announce that we have received an award for grievance no. PHX-40/25 (Baggage Fees), which was arbitrated on April 23, 2026, in Dallas, TX. On several occasions, members reported that Skycaps were collecting baggage fees, which violates our CBA. A grievance was filed, and the arbitrator has made a ruling.
AWARD
The Grievance is sustained to the extent that Skycaps continue to collect baggage fees. The Company shall cease and desist from permitting Skycaps to collect baggage fees in violation of Article 5.2(A)(3) of the CBA where it has been made aware that Skycaps are collecting baggage fees. The System Board of Adjustment retains jurisdiction over the remedy for a period of 180 days.
NEXT STEPS
Members should promptly report any violations of this award to their Shop Stewards and General Chairs so that District 142 can document them for the Arbitrator and file grievances.
District 142 would like to thank the membership for your patience as we fought hard to protect our work, and would like to emphasize that we are 100% committed to continuing to protect our scope.
Sincerely and fraternally,
| Kenny Champagne General Chair | April Butler General Chair | Carrie Lessley General Chair |
| Oralia Beecher General Chair | Lorraine Fraser General Chair | John Bidoglio General Chair |
