IAM/AIR WISCONSIN COFPS AND MRP NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Your IAM District 142 negotiating team met with Air Wisconsin at District 141 offices in ORD the week of February 6, 2024. Along with a full week planned for passing Articles back and forth, we invited guests to speak to the company from District 142’s Flight Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, and EAP Committees.

On Tuesday we met with Air Wisconsin in the afternoon and District 142 EAP Director Paul Shultz joined us and spoke to the company about the IAM EAP program. There is no union EAP at Air Wisconsin currently and Brother Shultz presented examples of the many times the EAP team has responded to a tragedy or crisis and its immense value to our members. Afterward, the company passed the team M&R ART 18.

Wednesday began with breakout sessions with District 142 Flight Safety Director Bud Brown, District 142 Occupational Safety and Health Director Brian Szolodko, and Air Wisconsin Vice President of Safety John Barker. During the Flight Safety session, Brother Brown gave a presentation on ERC, WBAT, and ASAP and an overview of the Flight Safety “Go-Team.” Brother Szolodko gave a presentation on GSAP and our mission of making safety the number one priority at all of our carriers. Vice President Barker gave his vision of where he sees the future of the safety programs at Air Wisconsin and the union and company committed to working together to keep our members’ safety at the forefront from now on.

The team spent the rest of the day Wednesday working on our counter to the pass from the company on Tuesday, along with 7 other counters/passes for Thursday’s session.

On Thursday, the company opened with two additional passes for M&R: ART 24 and LOA AMAP. The union then passed COFPS ART 1, ART 13, ART 26, ART 32, and M&R ART 2, ART 12, ART 18, and ART 20.

Your negotiating team had future dates scheduled to meet with the company in March and April, but it was made clear to us that those exact dates would no longer work for the company for various reasons. Your union team will still meet during those weeks to continue working to draft proposals for all remaining articles in both books. We are working with the company to reschedule dates to meet between now and June.

Thank you to our outstanding negotiating team for their hard work and our members who continue to steadfastly support our efforts. We appreciate your patience and solidarity.

Sincerely and fraternally,
