IAM – ALLIED AVIATION EWR MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

As everyone is keenly aware, the current IAM-Allied Fueling CBA is set to expire on February 28, 2021. As has been communicated previously, the IAM through District Lodge 142, and Allied Aviation have been engaged in negotiations over the past several months to enter into a National Master Agreement that will fall under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) and which will initially cover all of the IAM locations in the United States. Due to the complexities associated with completing this process, the current IAM Agreement covering the EWR location has been extended through and including May 31, 2021. During this time, all provisions of the current CBA remain in full force.

For several months now, Local Lodge 1445 has been conducting informational meetings via the web-based platform Zoom. During those meetings we have been discussing at length the things that have happened over the last 18+ months that have led to this shift in the way negotiations are being conducted, and how they will be conducted going forward under the RLA. It is a very broad topic that is too large to cover via a bulletin. Because of this, I highly encourage everyone from EWR to participate in them. They occur on the 4th Monday of every month (for now) and details on these meetings can be had by contacting a Local Lodge Officer or a Shop Steward.

As we continue to make progress, subsequent bulletins will be released with that information. Please take the time to sign up to receive these and all District Lodge 142 communications by going to www.iamdl142.org and clicking on the red button that says “Join Our Email List” on the top, left hand side of the home page. As always, I can be reached at or (859) 653-4037 to answer any questions you may. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.

Sincerely and fraternally,

 James M. Samuel
General Chairperson
