Occurring over the next 12 days preceding the ratification vote set for November 20, 2019 your Negotiating Committee will be traveling to every station to spend time with all members to discuss all of the background behind and elements of the Tentative Agreement announce and released yesterday. The object of these meetings is to give everyone a chance to personally ask of us any questions you may have and to have them answered. Here is the schedule of the road show meetings:
This TA represents many different things to different people. From where we started at in 2017 with the only option being total sub-contracting of all US based jobs, this TA provides job security to everyone for four (4) more years; it provides a path to exit the business for those ready to leave; it also provides a bridge for those who aren’t ready to leave now; it provides economic enhancements and security to those wanting to stay; it improves benefits cost for every part-time employee; and it also provides growth opportunity for the company and our members. No pay cuts. No benefit cuts. No unpaid uniforms. No unpaid parking. Nothing that was in the company’s original alternative proposal to outsourcing which was placed solely on your backs.
As you will hear firsthand from your negotiating committee in the coming days before you have a chance to vote on November 20th, we unanimously endorse this tentative agreement and recommend a YES vote. A schedule of ratification times will be released in a subsequent bulletin. If you have any questions, you can call me directly at (859) 653-4037 or email me at or contact one of your negotiating committee members.
With best wishes we remain
Sincerely and fraternally,
James M. Samuel
