Recently the Company released the information and processes for the 2019 medical and dental open enrollment. The process is different this year as compared to past years in that everyone must participate to some degree in the open enrollment process. Even if you intend to change nothing with your benefit selections or your dependents, you must complete the process. Because everyone must participate, it could create a situation where an individual might miss out on a communication or is just used to having to not do anything unless a change is needed. That is the last thing anyone wants or needs.
A number of employees have indicated there may be an issue with the website. If this is the case, please engage your local management to let them know of the issues. This will allow the issues to be addressed in a timely manner prior to the enrollment deadline.
The reason this is happening is the Company has changed systems and therefore needs to have everyone actively enroll again. It is not their intention to have anyone go without insurance. They will continue to send reminders out from now until the end of open enrollment (you have until November 19, 2018 to make your elections). This communication is intended to remind everyone of the importance of the mandatory participation and to complete the enrollment by the deadline.
