Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your District 142 negotiating team met with British Airways leadership in Miami on February 6, 7, and 8, 2024. We had a continued conversation on proposed changes to the current Collective Bargaining Agreements for the Customer Service and Engineering groups. There were no Tentative Agreements reached in this session, but discussions were productive.
For the Customer Service group, the company passed us a financial pay scale proposal that the negotiating committee is reviewing. We also had discussions on Article 6, Overtime and Holidays, and Article 9, Filling of Vacancies.
For the Engineering group, the negotiating committee worked on counter proposals back to the company on Articles 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 19, and 20.
The union and the company have both agreed to meet again the week of February 26, 2024. We continue to be encouraged by these negotiations and we appreciate our members’ continued solidarity and support.
We will continue to fight for you at the negotiating table and we are committed to bringing back a Tentative Agreement that our members will be proud of.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr. President/Directing General Chair IAM District 142 | Ken Coley General Chair IAM District 142 | Mark Strength General Chair IAM District 142 |
