IAM Files Proof of Claim for ExpressJet Members

Dear Sisters, Brothers and Union Family:

As you know, ExpressJet has filed for bankruptcy. We want to assure you that DL 142 is doing everything we can to protect your interests at this unfortunate juncture. Our attorney Richard M. Seltzer, of the law firm Cohen, Weiss, and Simon LLP, has submitted a proof of claim and accompanying addendum for the IAM on behalf of all our members at ExpressJet.

This claim covers the unpaid 2020 vacation owed to all Flight Attendants who were furloughed and not recalled, the unused and accrued 2020-2022 vacation pay owed to those employees who were recalled, any contractual notice owed to recalled Flight Attendants, any WARN Act payments owed to recalled Flight Attendants, and the payments in lieu of the 401(k) contributions owed to the Flight Attendants who were recalled. We also are working to protect your rights should another operator purchase the operating certificate.

Unfortunately, this process can be very lengthy and tedious for our members as we make sure their contractual rights are protected under the law.
We would like to thank you for your patience and support during this difficult and uncertain period. As we continue to fight on your behalf, we will keep you posted at each step of the process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the District at our new phone number (816) 982-6480.

Sincerely and in solidarity,

John M. Coveny, Jr.
President-Directing General Chair
