Dear Sisters and Brothers:
The current Collective Bargaining Agreement between IAM District 142 and Swissport/PHX was set to expire on Friday, March 24, 2023. The Union and the Company have mutually agreed to a 60-day contract extension, to expire on May 23, 2023.
Your District 142 Negotiating Committee met with Swissport in Phoenix on March 7 and 8, 2023, to negotiate a new agreement for our membership. The Union presented proposals for the following articles:
- Article 13 – Hourly Job Descriptions Article 16 – Wages
- Article 17 – Holidays
- Article 19 – Vacations
- Article 20 – Health and Life Insurance Benefits Article 22 – Retirement
- Article 23 – Filling of Vacancies and Shift Bids
The Union and Company both presented several counter proposals during these sessions of negotiations and when we concluded
on March 8, we had Tentative Agreements on all articles except Articles 16 and 17. The Union is waiting for Swissport’s counter proposals to these last 2 remaining articles.
