IAM/BRITISH AIRWAYS PRE-65 RETIREE HEALTH INSURANCE UPDATE

Brothers and Sisters,

The Union and Company met again this week on February 1 and 2 to continue working towards a resolution for the grievance filed last year covering the changes in pre-65 retiree healthcare.  Present for the Union were myself, Mike Manzo, Grand Lodge Rep and Rob Clayman, IAM Counsel.  Present for the Company were Kate Ling, Head of International HR, Richard Mendles, General Counsel Americas, Georgia LaBarge, Director People America, Travis Gaito, BA US HR and Roger Briton, BA outside counsel.

The talks this week were again positive and productive.  Progress is being made towards resolving the open issues although there still remains a divide between the respective positions.  Both sides agree that with continued constructive dialogue there potentially is an agreement that can be reached and to that end, IAM District Lodge 142 and British Airways have agreed to postpone the Arbitration that was scheduled for next week. Additional meetings are scheduled for the week of February 27, 2017 and another update will be communicated at that time. Please be assured that we continue looking out for the interest of our IAM retirees.

As always, communications concerning British Airways, and all companies represented by IAMAW District Lodge 142 can be found at www.iamdl142.org.   If you have any questions about this process, please give me a call at (859) 653-4037 or email me at ">. With best wishes, I remain

Sincerely and fraternally,

James M. Samuel
    GENERAL CHAIR
