It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Brother Brian Simonson, retired District 142 Safety Representative for Hawaiian Airlines and a former President of Local 1979.
Brian’s dedication and service to the safety and well-being of his fellow union members will be remembered with respect and gratitude. His contributions through District 142 and the Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC) made a lasting impact, helping to ensure safer workplaces and stronger protections for all IAM members.
On behalf of District 142, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Brian’s family, to his brothers and sisters at Hawaiian Airlines, to his JATSC family, and to all those who had the honor of working alongside him. His commitment to his fellow members and his union family will not be forgotten.
We thank Brother Brian for his years of dedication, his leadership, and his unwavering focus on safety. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
