Dear Sisters and Brothers:
International Flight Attendant Appreciation Day, also known as World Cabin Crew Appreciation Day, is celebrated every year on May 31. First celebrated in Canada in 2015, this special day quickly spread to the U.S. and abroad.
The IAM has always stressed the importance of safety and perhaps no other workgroup personifies safety on the job more than our Flight Attendants. A Flight Attendant’s priority is the safety of the passengers and crew. They are trained in CPR, fighting fires, and assisting with emergency landings. They can safely evacuate an airplane in minutes and help deliver a baby at 30,000 feet! Flight Attendants are true first responders!
All of us at District 142 would like to take a moment to recognize our Flight Attendants for their work and the sacrifices they make every day. You are amazing professionals who always go above and beyond, and we thank you. We hope you enjoy this day of recognition. We appreciate you every day. With best wishes, we remain,
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
