Negotiations with OpenSkies for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement resumed this week on Thursday and Friday, May 26 and 27, 2016 in New York City. Present for the Company were Valerie Francois – Human Resources Director, Peter Nye Director of Flight Operations, Cristina Kirkorian – Cabin Crew Base Manager USA and Rick Vitarelli – attorney Jackson Lewis. In attendance for the Union were General Chair Sara Gonzalez, Grand Lodge Representatives John Werkmeister and Mike Manzo and Negotiating Committee Members Cathy Carey and Francois Bisi.
We discussed the ongoing investigation of OpenSkies by the French authorities, which should be concluded within the next couple of weeks. The investigation concerns whether or not OpenSkies is required to pay social service taxes to the French Government for its USA based employees.
The discussions over the past two days involved compensation, health insurance and the Company’s state of the business. The talks were more productive, positive and encouraging than during our previous sessions in late 2015.
We have scheduled the following dates to continue negotiations: June 22 – 24 and the week of July 25 – 29, 2016.
