Dear Sisters and Brothers:
District 142 is pleased to announce that the TWU-IAM Association has reached a Tentative Agreement for a Contract Extension with American Airlines.
The Association leadership met with the company on September 18 and 19, 2024, during which time the company presented an economic offer for our Members. This economic offer was then shared with the entire Association Negotiation Committee. After reviewing the offer, we are pleased to announce that the final wages, across the board, will bring all of our Members back in line with the rest of the industry.
The updated wage rate charts and adjusted premiums are attached to this bulletin below.
The process of bringing our Members’ wages back in line with the industry was very quick. It took less than eight weeks from the company’s initial request to reach this Tentative Agreement on the wage-focused extension.
Your Negotiation Committee voted unanimously to bring the final offer back to you, the Membership, for a Ratification Vote.
The next steps in the process are to schedule in-person and virtual (online) meetings with our Members so that we can provide you the opportunity to ask questions and provide input prior to the ratification vote.
Details on the schedule for the meetings and the balloting process for the ratification vote will be coming once they have been arranged.
Thank you for your patience, support, and above all, your solidarity throughout this process.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
