Tentative Agreement Reached for IAM Members at Signature Flight Support MDW

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

IAM District 142 held Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations with Signature on July 28, 29, 30 and this week on August 5. After four days of negotiations, a Tentative Agreement (TA) was reached late Wednesday afternoon.

This Agreement represents a concerted effort to address all issues presented to it for these negotiations. While there were some significant expectations around wages within this committee, it is consistent and exceeds all other similar and like industries and contracts in the US. It also goes farther than last time to outpace inflation which your last contract did not. This data was shared, discussed and acknowledged by the committee. The Company made clear that this agreement represents a much higher investment economically in the MDW IAM membership. In this case it is almost 7% higher.

Highlights of the new TA include:

  • GWI of 4% – 4% – 4% – 4% CBA – 16.99% over 4 years
  • 3rd shift premium increased to $1.00/hr
  • Safety shoe allowance increase to $200.00
  • New Educational Assistance Program (GUILD)
  • New Grievance Manager Program (GMP) language
  • Focused language on technology implementation
  • New Lead B positions
  • Lead B premium $1.00
  • GSE tool allowance increased to $300.00
  • Strengthened part-time language w/protections for current full-time employees
  • Increase in excused absence protections

Once the completed document has been finalized and reviewed, it will be released to the membership. Additional details regarding the ratification vote process will be provided in a separate bulletin. This agreement expires at midnight on Friday, August 14 with no guarantees of a further extension at this point. Your negotiating committee endorses this TA and encourages all members to vote YES!
