Negotiations Committees Meet to Prepare for Upcoming Bargaining
Brothers and Sisters,
The TWU/IAM Association Negotiating Committee met this week in Phoenix, Arizona, with the negotiations subcommittees representing our Maintenance & Related (M&R), Maintenance Control Technicians (MCT), Maintenance Training Specialists (MTS), and Material Logistics Specialists (MLS), Maintenance and Logistics Planners, Quality Assurance Auditors, and Technical Document Specialists work groups to begin preparations for upcoming negotiations with American Airlines, which are scheduled to begin on April 1, 2027.
These meetings focused on identifying the contractual priorities, many from the prior round of contract negotiations preparations, and also identified newer concerns that matter most to our members. Committee members reviewed workplace issues, discussed opportunities for contractual improvements, and began developing proposals designed to strengthen our collective bargaining position. Although each work group faces distinct challenges, we remain united in our goal: to negotiate the strongest contracts that recognize the professionalism, skill, and dedication of every TWU/IAM Association member and sets a new industry standard for wages and benefits.
In the upcoming weeks, we will launch member surveys through the new TechOps Association website. These surveys will give every member the opportunity to identify their bargaining priorities, share existing contractual concerns, and help the negotiation committee shape the proposals presented at the bargaining table. Your feedback will play a critical role in ensuring that our negotiating agenda reflects the priorities of the entire membership.
We encourage every member to participate when the surveys become available. Your voice matters, and every response strengthens our ability to negotiate from a position of unity.
With early openers for negotiations set to begin on April 1, 2027, the TWU/IAM Association remains committed to keeping the membership informed through regular updates. We encourage you to stay engaged, support your Negotiating Committee, encourage your fellow members to participate, and continue demonstrating the solidarity that has always been the foundation of our strength.
Together, we will stand strong for the industry-leading contract our members have earned and deserve.
In Solidarity,
The TWU/IAM Association Negotiating Committee
