UPCOMING NOMINATIONS FOR EXPRESSJET GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

With nominations approaching for the Grievance Committee, we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the responsibilities and commitments involved in being a grievance representative.

The grievance committee reports directly to the District Lodge, which would either be Special Representative Marche Cooper for CRJ representatives, or General Chairperson Sara Gonzales for ERJ representatives. You will be required to set a schedule for a specific number of days dependent on your base to your District Lodge representative. Representatives will also be required to participate in conference calls as necessary as well.

Each grievance representative will be provided a grievance cell phone and be able to designate a union email address. You will be responsible to respond to members’ emails and calls in a timely manner even when on off days or working a trip.

Regarding compensation, CRJ representatives are given preassigned credit and paid at 6 hours per 8-hour day worked in the crew room. ERJ representatives will be given trip drops unpaid and paid 6 hours per 8-hour day worked in the crew room. No per diem, travel expenses including hotel or accommodations are paid for grievance representatives as you are only servicing where you are currently domiciled. Commuters are not afforded positive space travel and are not given any additional expenses and are still required to be in the crew room for 8 hours for each crew room day, which may vary but is typically 4 days per month to 12 days per month per representative.

If you have any other questions or need further clarification please contact for CRJ questions or for ERJ questions.

In solidarity,

Sara Gonzales                                      Marche’ Johnson-Cooper
