We have been hearing from members that several airports are experiencing very long lines due to a wave of TSA sick calls because they aren’t being paid due the government shutdown. For the airports with KCM hopefully this won’t be an issue but I’m sure they would eventually close KCM check points as well if they can’t staff them (for the ones that do require additional staffing).
I reached out to the Company to see what their plan is in order to get the crews to the planes in a timely manner and keep the operation running smoothly, in addition to not having anyone’s attendance negatively impacted. The Company indicated that there haven’t been any reports in regards to operational impact caused by government funding. But Inflight is coordinating with Corporate Security and will continue to monitor the situation.
In the meantime please allow extra time when reporting for your trips.
