EXPRESSJET LEAVE OF ABSENCE UPDATE

Brothers and Sisters:

We are pleased to let you know the IAM and the company has signed an Addendum to Memorandum of Understanding #2 COVID-19 Leave of Absence. This allows a flight attendant to remain on a TOWOP leave of absence through September 30, 2020. The following are the enhancements:

  • Section 11.A.16 – A Flight Attendant granted a leave of absence in excess of 30 days covered by this MOU will not be required to turn in any Company items (I.D. badge, manual, etc.).
  • Section 11.B Time off Without Pay (TOWOP) – During the months of May through the end of September 2020. Flight Attendants who take TOWOP for more than one bid period will be able to continue their current insurance benefits (provided that they pay the active Flight Attendant premiums) and will have pass privileges for themselves and all eligible pass riders. Previously, these two benefits were only available for the first thirty (30) days that a Flight Attendant is on TOWOP for the calendar year.
  • Flight Attendants on a Leave under Paragraph A or B of this Agreement will be able to bid for Base Transfers and Jobshare, as though they are currently active.

We have attached a copy of the MOU. It will be updated on the company website as well as the IAMAW Flight Attendant App. Should you have any questions regarding the new MOU, please contact your local Grievance Representative, General Chair or Special Representative.

Thank you all for your continued support as we continue to work on additional enhancements to our current contract.

In solidarity,
