Dear Sisters and Brothers:
The Negotiating Committee, Subcommittee, and Proposal Screening Committee convened in Phoenix, Arizona, on September 16–17, 2026, to review proposals submitted by the membership. To date, the committees have received, organized, and prioritized more than 1,600 proposals systemwide. Thirty-eight members worked collaboratively to identify the key issues affecting our classifications. The Negotiating Committee will continue to review and develop the submitted proposals.
The Committee is also developing a negotiations webpage accessible via a link and QR code specifically for Southwest Airlines members. The roadmap page will include committee member biographies and photographs, live updates, frequently asked questions, and information about the Railway Labor Act (RLA). Members are encouraged to visit Home – District 142 (https://iamdl142.org/) to sign up for communications or update their contact information so they can receive negotiation bulletins and text alerts.
What can you do now? Continue to work together in solidarity as one, attend local meetings, ask Shop Stewards questions, join informational meetings when established, and sign up for all communications. Remember together we are stronger! WE ARE ONE UNION!
