TO ALL DISTRICT 142 MEMBERS:
In accordance with the Constitution of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) and District 142 Election Procedures, District 142 will conduct nominations, endorsements, and, if necessary, an election for District 142 Executive Officers and General Chairpersons for four-year terms.
OFFICES TO BE FILLED
The following District 142 offices are subject to election:
- President/Directing General Chairperson (1)
- Secretary-Treasurer (1)
- Vice President – Alaska Airlines (1)
- Vice President – American Airlines (1)
- Vice President – Southwest Airlines (1)
- Vice President – McGee Air Services (1)
- Vice President – Hawaiian Islands (1)
- Vice Presidents At-Large (3)
- Trustees (3)
- General Chairpersons (17)
All positions are for four-year terms.
NOMINATION MEETINGS
Nomination meetings will be held at each affiliated Local on:
Friday, September 4, 2026
Meeting times:
- 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Members in good standing are encouraged to attend their Local nomination meeting to participate in the nomination process.
ABSENTEE NOMINATIONS AND ABSENTEE BALLOTS
Members who work more than 25 miles from their scheduled Local nomination meeting location, or who are scheduled to work or travel for work on the nomination, endorsement, or election dates, may request absentee nomination and absentee ballot materials.
Important Deadlines:
- Absentee Nomination Forms must be received by September 4, 2026.
- Absentee Ballots for the endorsement vote must be received by October 16, 2026.
- Absentee Ballots for the election must be received by December 11, 2026.
Members may request absentee ballots online through the District 142 absentee ballot request system.
ENDORSEMENT VOTE DATE (IF NECESSARY)
The District 142 Endorsement Election will be conducted on:
Friday, October 16, 2026
Voting Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

ELECTION DATE (IF NECESSARY)
The District 142 General Election will be conducted on:
Friday, December 11, 2026
Voting Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
