The Philadelphia Airport (PHL) sponsored a Safety Fair on May 17th, 2022. IAM members from American Airlines Maintenance in PHL manned a booth at the fair and put together an impressive presentation. Frank Gambino, American Airlines Crew Chief AMT, District 142 Safety Member, and Safety Chair from Local Lodge 1776 coordinated and planned all the efforts. Ray Gacheny, American Airlines AMT from Local Lodge 1776 manned the booth, answered all questions, passed out PPE samples and educated our members with regards to safety. Also involved was Orlando Luna, American Maintenance Trainer from Local Lodge 368 in Miami, who helped plan the event but was unable to attend.
Many departments participated in the safety fair and our membership were able to have safety discussions, sample PPE and win prizes. We are proud of our Local Lodge and District Lodge members who stepped up to make a difference and keep our members educated on the topic of safety.
