SOUTHWEST AIRLINES "ME-TOO" CLAUSE FAQ

The new wage rates with the top-of-scale rates adjusted for the Me-Too clause are now posted on the website on the Southwest Contracts page and the CS&S/SOS Bulletin Board

The new pay rates go into effect on the April 16 - 30, 2024 pay period and should be reflected on the May 5, 2024, paycheck.

All wage scales listed in Article 27 will have the rates of pay at all steps increase by 3.0% in December 2024, 2025, and 2026 as described in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The new Bonus Payment will be made as a separate Line item on the paycheck dated May 20, 2024.

The bonus was calculated on $445 per year of completed service as of December 15, 2022 for eligible members, with a minimum payout of $2000

Southwest employees who have left the Company or transferred out of the Classifications represented by the IAM since the December 2022 signing bonus calculation will not be eligible for any additional bonus money.

Any employee who has been terminated since the last Bonus Payment will be eligible for an additional Bonus Payout only if they should return to work under any settlement or Grievance resolution.

Employees who have left the Company or transferred out of the Classifications represented by the IAM since the December 2022 signing bonus calculation will not be eligible for any additional bonus money.

You can elect to have no contribution to your 401(k) from the bonus, or you can elect to contribute up to 50% of your bonus to your 401(k) as long as you do not exceed the IRS annual contribution limit! Contact your 401(k) plan administrator to make any necessary changes to your paycheck.

Yes. The bonus is considered as earnings and therefore is subject to all normal tax withholdings required by law.

The IAM agrees to keep the modified agreement regarding the 401-K and Regular Medical Plan. This agreement is a 4% NEC and a 5.3% Match in return for eliminating the Regular Medial plan going forward with those currently enrolled to stay in such plan.

Unfortunately, a retiree would not qualify for the bonus because they are no longer on the Southwest Airlines payroll.
