Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your IAM District 142 Negotiating Team is proud to announce that we have reached a 4-year Tentative Agreement for British Airways Engineering.
This Tentative Agreement brings significant improvements to the contract. Highlights include:
- Removed the 40-hour qualifier for overtime.
- Across-the-board pay raises, 10.5% on date of implementation.
- Stronger scope language. Overtime must be called before a manager performs covered work.
- Overtime on the 6th and 7th RDO will be paid at 2x hourly pay if scheduled for a 4-day 10-hour shift.
- Split shift premium of .75 cents per hour.
- License premiums increase. Maintenance representative and Mechanic with an A3 company approval $2.50 for FAA airframe and $2.50 per hour for FAA powerplant for a total of $5.00 per hour with an increase to $3.50 for FAA airframe and $3.50 per hour for FAA powerplant for a total of $7.00 at DOR+36 months. Mechanic $2.25 for FAA airframe and $2.25 per hour for FAA powerplant for a total of $4.50 per hour.
- Ratification bonus based on years of service. $500 to $4500. Prorated for part-time employees.
- New job continuity overtime language. Overtime for a known outage will be guaranteed 8 hours minimum.
- Vacation increased to 26 days at 25 years of service, 27 days at 26 YOS, 28 days at 27 YOS, 29 days at 28 YOS, and 30 days at 29 YOS.
- Day trades increased to 12 per month.
- $275.00 to cover all cleaning and laundering costs incurred during the year.
- Upon separation from the Company, an employee will receive payment for fifty percent (50%) of accrued sick/ disability leave in their sick/disability bank.
- Added Juneteenth holiday.
- Travel allowance for trips to the UK will be per Company policy.
- Introduction of the electronic GMP (grievance manager program).
- New SIDA badge renewal language.
- No increase in contributions to employee medical or dental insurance premiums.
