Dear Sisters and Brothers:
After many months of delays and tough negotiations, IAM District 142 has reached a tentative agreement with Allied Aviation – IAH which includes substantial wage increases, improved vacation accrual/language, and improvements to the grievance procedure.
Here are highlights of the tentative agreement:
- From the last contract and its last increase on 1/1/2021, covering the entire interim period, the average increases are 25.34% across all classifications.
- Increases for all out-of-scale/topped-out employees during the life of the contract of $0.35/year and an additional signing bonus of $500.
- Effective on DOR all employees will accrue vacation based on the same scale up to 4 weeks.
- Article 9 – Vacation completely rewritten with updated rules and procedures.
- Article 26 – Compliance and Enforcement completely rewritten with an update and now system-wide grievance procedure.
A copy of the Tentative Agreement with changes highlighted is available to everyone on the District Lodge 142 website (https://atd142.org/). A ratification vote will be conducted electronically Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm. Additional information and instructions on how to vote will be posted soon.
