IAM/Signature Flight Support MDW Negotiations Update

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Negotiations for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) began this week, with meetings held near the MDW airport. This week was primarily dedicated to proposed language changes in Articles 3, 4, 5, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, and 18, as well as all schedules in the back of the contract. All proposals exchanged were non-economic. Agreements in principle were reached in multiple areas of Articles 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, and Schedule B.

Good progress was made on the remaining open language issues through productive dialogue. While we did not address economic issues in this session, we will be prepared to do so when negotiations resume in the second session.

The next session has been scheduled for July 29 and 30, again near the MDW airport. The current contract will be extended for sixty (60) days beyond its June 10 expiration date. This extension will allow time to complete and vote on a Tentative Agreement (TA), if one is reached, during the next session. The Company and the Union have already agreed to include retroactive pay in the next contract.

If you have not already done so, please visit the District 142 website at https://atd142.org and click the buttons at the top of the homepage to Join our Email List and Sign Up for Text Messages.
