Dear Sisters and Brothers:
As a reminder, The ratification vote for the second Tentative Agreement (TA2) will open on Thursday, October 1, at 9:00 am Central Time and close on Friday, October 2, at 5:00 pm Central Time. Voting will be online only! On or before October 1, you will receive an email from Election Buddy at your personal email address. This email will include a link to the voting site and detailed instructions on how to cast your vote. Failure to follow these instructions will result in you not being able to vote on the Tentative Agreement.
The following are a few questions and answers from the SFS MDW members this week:
- Where did the info that we took back to the negotiating table come from? All bargaining priorities that we went back to negotiations with came from the membership via the survey. There was a clear voice in the following order 1) wages, 2) vacation bidding, 3) overtime, 4) work rules and 5) shift bidding. Numbers 3, 4, 5 were distant to 1 & 2. Across all areas of concern, we increased the wages, delayed the vacation implementation and put restrictions on the use of part-time (see the highlight sheet).
- What happens if this contract is voted down? The only thing guaranteed at this point is that the current contract expires as stated below.
- Where are the survey results? The answers and feedback will be sent to all members who have submitted their contact information today.

This agreement expires at midnight on Friday, October 2, 2026, with no guarantees of any further extensions. Please ensure you have all questions answered prior to voting by a member of your committee. Your support and solidarity with your negotiating committee’s recommendation and endorsement of TA2 can be displayed by voting YES!
