Dear Sisters and Brothers:
This past week, station visits were conducted to discuss the tentative agreement recently reached with Signature Aviation at the MDW location. During those visits, details and instructions were communicated both verbally and in writing on how to participate in the online voting process. After having a chance on both days to have all questions answered, voting commenced at 0800 Central Time this morning for all eligible full dues-paying members who completed the voting instructions.
It became clear this morning after voting started that a significant number of otherwise eligible members did not follow the instructions provided this week. Because some individuals believe they have not been given the opportunity to vote, District 142 has decided to suspend voting at this time. This suspension of voting is only to allow additional time for everyone to follow the instructions on how to vote, and not to allow additional negotiations. Additional information, including explicit instructions on how to vote, will be released on or before Monday, August 17.
We have communicated with the Company about this issue, and they have agreed to a short-term extension to allow for the additional voting time.
